Flat Stanley helps with home renovations

Hello Dog and classmates!
I hope everyone is having a great Spring! We've been very busy in Alabama. Flat Stanley has been keeping himself just as busy! For the last two months, we've been doing renovations on our new house. Flat Stanley helped us install new kitchen cabinets and hardwood floor. He also helped us start to paint the house and do some yard work outside. My husband is very handy around the house, so I know Flat Stanley has been learning a lot from him...I know I have!! I think he's had a pretty good time with us in the South, but I know he'll be really excited to return to the Midwest! He might be in need of some rest...we've worked him very hard the last several weeks!
See you soon!

Jackalope's Flat Stanley watches PBR!

Hi Jackalope and friends! I hope you are all doing well and having fun in school! Jackalope and I had a fun weekend. One of my college friends came down for the weekend and we went to Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday.
We went shopping at the mall. Flat Stanley didn't like how much time we spent in some of the stores so he took a nap in my bag. We also went out to eat at The Cheesecake Factory! Flat Stanley thought the cheesecake looked delicous.

At Jordan Creek Mall is Des Moines                                 Yummy Cheesecake from
with my friend Cassie                                                the Cheesecake Factory!

After the mall we went to the Iowa Events Center and watched PBR! Flat Stanley loved watching all the bull riders. It was very exciting and he even saw a bull rider up close. Stanley collected some PBR trading cards and is going to take them with him when he returns to 2nd grade :)

Flat Stanley Goes to the Park with Sparky and Tessa

Hello Moose!  On Saturday I took Flat Stanley to a beautiful park near my house.  There was a dedication that day because a 550 foot bridge was built over Marlu Lake and another smaller bridge over Thompson Pond.  Now I can go walking on a 4.4 mile loop with my dogs.  Some politicians were giving speeches and Flat Stanley just couldn't resist getting in the photo during the speech.  Then Stanley had a chance to meet Allison, the Monmouth County Environmentalist.  Alison was nice enough to take a picture with Stanley on the new bridge.  Flat Stanley had the most fun getting a ride on Sparky's back. After the ceremony and ribbon cutting, Stanley, the dogs and I went for a walk in the park.

Flat Stanley Goes to NYC

Hi Moose!

Now that Spring is here, I am finally going on some adventures.  After Spring Break and the college road trip I took a bus to New York City.  Flat Stanley joined my friends and me in Manhattan to go to lunch and see a Broadway musical. We walked through Times Square to get to Tony's, a famous Italian restaurant in the middle of the theatre district.  Then we went to see "End of the Rainbow", which is a musical about Judy Garland.  Judy Garland played Dorothy in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.  It was a fun day.  We were standing right next to a New York City police car, so I took a photo of Stanley next to the car.  I was hoping one of "New York's Finest" (AKA the New York City police officers) would be around to take a picture with Stanley, but they must have been investigating something in one of the buildings nearby.  What do you think about that gigantic dessert?  The painting behind Stanley is of a celebrity.  Do you know who it is?

Flat Stanley Goes on College Road Trip to Connecticut

Hi Moose,
Happy Birthday!  I hope you had a fun weekend at Grandma's house in Lincoln!

Flat Stanley has finally been on some adventures.  Lauren is looking at colleges, so we took Flat Stanley on a road trip to Connecticut to see the University of New Haven and Southern Connecticut State University.  We left the day after Easter and met with our very good friends for lunch in Fairfield, Connecticut, where Lauren, Zack and Uncle Ross and I used to live.  We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant called Moe's.  It was delicious!  On our way back we stopped to pick up Lauren and Zack's cousins in Rye, NY.  They were visiting their grandparents.  Their cousin, who is holding Stanley, was visiting from California.  Stanley met a lot of people while on this road trip!

Flat Stanley and Jackalope reunited at Easter :)

Flat Stanley had a lot of fun on Easter weekend! He got to go to Grandpa and Grandma's house again. This time he even got to see Jackalope again! He had lots of stories to tell Jackalope. On Easter Jackalope and all his cousins had an Easter egg hunt. Jackalope even helped find some of the eggs. Jackalope shared his toys and candy with me since he couldn't eat them ;) Check out the pictures of all Jackalope's eggs below!

Some of the eggs that were found :)

Jackalope wanted his own Easter basket too!

Fishing adventures with Jackalope's Flat Stanley!

Hi Jackalope and classmates! Flat Stanley and I have been pretty busy lately and haven't had much time to update the blog. A few weeks ago was spring break for me, so Flat Stanley and I traveled home to Northwest Iowa. We had lots of adventures traveling to different towns in the area. Flat Stanley got to meet some of Jackalope's cousins and go fishing with his grandpa! Flat Stanley caught more fish than me! I only caught three but Stanley went along with Jackalope's cousin Allen and caught a bunch of fish :) Here are some pictures of Flat Stanley's fishing fun!

Tigers Trip of a Lifetime

Well, the trip to Puerto Rico was a memorable one.  The flights were quick and all people associated with flying are real courteous and helpful.  When we arrived we got to rent a car(not the huge SUV like back in Indiana), drive to the house that we rented, and then went to a local grocery store to purchase some food for the week.

When we got to the house it was wonder full.  It was setup with everything we needed to stay the week.  Below you can see the shower that was outside, I think it was for rinsing off after swimming at the beach.  Also there is Jaxson and I be the trees that were planted in a small area.

The beaches were awesome and the waves from the ocean were really rough, but manageable.  As you can see the kids buried me up to my head and it took me a long time to get out from there, I thought the crabs were gonna carry me away.

We also got to go to the rain forest, that was a breath taking experience.  I never knew that the weather could change so dramatically from by the beach to up inside there.  We didn't get any pictures cause it was raining the whole time and didn't want to ruin the camera, but we say waterfalls, a few iguanas, and leaves that were as large as a trash can lid. WOW!!

Hope all is well in the classroom and you are studying hard.  Spring break is going on here and the kids are off the whole week. YIPPEE!!

Take Care
Love
Tiger

Hello Emu!!!!

Hello Emu! How are you doing? I have been so very busy with my travels! I have been enjoying life in California very much. I made sure to put on my sunscreen, since Ms. Appl told me I should! I got to see a giant Navy Aircraft Carrier called the USS Midway! It is 972 feet long and weighs 74,000 tons which is more than the weight of 2,000 Humpback whales combined! I also saw a giant statue of a Navy Sailor kissing a Navy Nurse when he came back from war. There are so many exciting things to see! Next week I will post pictures from my trip to Washington D.C. and then I will be on my way to London, England! I'm so excited to be collecting buttons for you from all my stops!

Giraffe's Denver Adventures!

Hello Giraffe!  Sorry it's been so long but I had a glitch getting online!  Boy has it been fun here in Denver, Colorado.  They call it the Mile High City because it really is a mile high in elevation, and it sits right next to the Rocky Mountains, which get up to an elevation of 12,180 feet around Denver.  I got to know your cousin Rachel and Aunt Rae and Uncle Bob over a dice game called "Zilch".  It was a fun game, even if it required lots of counting:)  I partnered up with Rachel and we won!  In the first part of February we had a pretty big snow storm but it was cool cause the next day we got out in it and shoveled some, and then Rachel and I made Snow Angels!   I also got to meet your cousin Crystal and Uncle Cliff and Aunt Claire at a birthday party for Justin, Rachel's brother.  Met your other cousins, Mark, Jason, Tyler, Raymond and Emily and their son Lucas too...he's one year old but already walking and saying some words!  Boy, you have lots of family here...and they all wanted me to say hi and send their love!  I've been up into the mountains twice now...that was awesome!  I got to see an Ice Sculpture Festival at Cripple Creek, a small historic town in the mountains above Colorado Springs, that was cool!  I also went with Aunt Rae and Uncle Bob to Estes Park, a bigger ski and tourist town in the Mountains above Denver, sure was nice seeing the mountains:)  Hope you are doing great Giraffe, will write again...sooner this time! :)
