California has had one of the worst housing crashes in the last few years causing many home owners leaving their homes and letting them go into foreclosure.

California touches Nevada, Arizona, Oregon and Mexico.

Port of Long Beach is where goods are brought from overseas and transported via truck or train to their location.

Los Angeles is known for the garment district where clothes are designed.  We can shop the district for lower prices.

There is a large jewelry market in downtown Los Angeles on 8th and Hill where you can shop at various booths located in one large building.

Everyone knows Hollywood is in California

California was known for Dairy farming but many have now moved to other states.

First

I Tiger got to go to my first basketball game.  Jaxson was playing and did really well.  I heard his parents and other parents cheering really loud for his team.  There were alot of parents and other players there waiting for the next game to start.  Jaxson scored 6 points and his team won the game.  Hope I get to go to another game soon, but they say that is is every Saturday and next weekend his dad has to work all day, so I may not get to go.  Hope all is well back in the classroom and hope to have exciting news again soon.

Rhino Hockey Weekend

Well, Flat Stanley has arrived here in Brookfield, Wisconsin!  As soon as he arrived here, he had to climb into the car to drive about 5 hours north to a small town called Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.  It is a town that is close to the Minnesota border and the Twin Cities.  He came with us to watch Rhino's big cousin play in a girls' hockey tournament!  You can see her right behind Flat Stanley in the picture.  We had a great time even though it was very cold in the hockey rink.  Our team didn't win but we had three great games and the girls played really hard.  We are so happy to have Flat Stanley with us and can't wait to take him on more adventures!
