My second grade class just finished reading the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. We are now starting our Flat Stanley Project by sending our Flat Stanleys on an adventure to different host families around the nation. The purpose of this blog is to easily share Flat Stanley's adventures with students, parents, and host families.

Tigers Trips
I got to go with the familty to a karate class and boy are those kids good at what they do. I heard that is takes alot of practice to get the strips and achieve a new belt. At this class they were tested on all the things that they were taught in the classes before. At the end of the class they found out whether or not they passed. Not to worry, both kids had passed and gotten new belts. Attached are the boys and one with me. I hope that the kids keep on learning and listen to the instructors so they can continue to learn and get to the black belt level.

Flat Stanley in Alabama!
Hello everyone!
Dog's Flat Stanley has arrived in Alabama with Aunt Amy and Uncle Chad. He is getting used to the Southern weather and his new surroundings. One of his favorite things to do is hang out with the two cats we have. Here is a picture of Flat Stanley with one or our cats. I think they might become good friends soon! Flat Stanley has kept himself entertained by watching me clean the house and cook dinner. He also drives to work with me everyday. I think he enjoys riding in the car!!
More adventures to come with Dog's Flat Stanley in Alabama!!

Donkey's Deployed Flat Stanley Reporting!
Hello Ms. Appl's 2nd Grade Class! Donkey's Flat Stanley and I have had a lot of adventures while we are both deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan. He has been with me on missions, to the U.S. Embassy and all over NKC (New Kabul Compound) where I live. He has also made a lot of new friends on the task force where I work over here. As you will see in the pictures, Flat Stanley is fitting in very well - everyone likes him (even though he does not say a lot!).
We will leave here at the end of the month and head home to Kansas. I will have been in Afghanistan for 6 months. A couple of weeks after I get back my wife and I are going on a cruise to Hawaii. I will ask her if Flat Stanley can come with us as he will deserve some rest and relaxation after working so hard to serve his country in Afghanistan!
Hope you kids enjoy all the pictures, if you have any questions please send me an email - I would be happy to hear from you.
God bless you all and the United States of America! Dean
